Ur column is wonderfull & appriciated. It is true that
our mostly senior columnists writing on commercial basis
under the command of ISI & Sharif brothers.
( As ” Qasmi , Shami aur Humnawa are Sharify Qawal.”
Just read your recent column. Thanks for sharing it with me.
I do not believe there is any shortage of ‘think tanks’ in Pakistan. What is short is professional honesty and commitment to the nation. Since these commodities are in short supply, it is easy for any writer to compromise national interests and follow the path of ‘self building’ instead of ‘national building’.
Unfortunately, this problem is not limited to writers and journalists. It is widespread and expresses itself in almost all professions.
Journalists, writers and thinkers are movers and shakers of a nation and when these people start compromising, it becomes hard for a common man to shape up his/her opinion in an unbiased way. Governments see an opportunity in these situations and fully exploit them to their advantage.
Pakistanis living outside Pakistan, you and me including, are awaiting to see a real change in attitudes in our beloved country, especially the attitude of those who really matter in shaping up the nation.
