BiOGRAPHY

Khurshid Zaman Abbasi was born in the village of Dhani Duhoodan Muzaffarad Azad Kashmir Pakistan. Though living in the United States for several years, his accomplishments do show a consistent passion for journalism and the concerns of the Kashmir people.

Mr. Zaman feels his greatest mission in life is to struggle for peaceful solutions of Kashmir issues with the help of journalist print and electronic media, intellectual writers, human rights activists, politicians and human rights organizations worldwide. Many experiences in his life have well prepared him over time to serve in this struggle, some of which are listed here.
•Service to the Student Unity organization and participation in various writing and speech competitions as a youth.
•Service to a Literary Society he established and leading the Society’s efforts as its president and the editor of Domel, a college magazine published by the Society.
•Service to Shehbaz, a youth radio program, as a speech and script writer: and with significant writing for Azad Kashmir Radio on the topic of Democracy and National Development.
•Service as a political analyst and special representative to the Pakistani Daily Newspapers in Muzzaffarabad Azad Kashmir and wrote the Political Diary of Muzaffarabad.
•Service as founder and editor-in-chief to the weekly newspaper, Sada-E-Muzaffarabad ( in English, Voice of Muzaffarabad), a weekly newspaper he published from Muzaffarabad AK, having received the NO objection certificate from Azad Jammu and Kashmir council Secretariat Islamabad (Pakistan) on the 7th of August 1995
•Service to Muzaffarabad Press Club ( MPC), an institute of journalism, as its Secretary General.
•Service as a columnist for the New York Awam, an Urdu weekly newspaper publish in New York, USA

With such history of service, Zaman has certainly made significant contributions and received much recognition that must be noted. .* life time member and coordinators south asian columnist council north amercia.

•Was named as a best debater during his years as a student.
•Contributed to the historic book on the History of Kashmir entitled, Kashmir from BC to 1991 – written by the late Zahur-Ul-Haq, a renowned columnist of English newspapers.
•Spearheaded a meeting with the leader of Azad kashmir and the press club to solicit their efforts for peaceful solutions of Kashmir Issues
•Became a press accredited journalist with Azad government of the State of Jammu and Kashmir Public Relation Information Department.
•Wrote Human Rights in Pakistan, an important research article writen in Urdu and English.

Worst Life Experience

During his term as Secretary General of MPC, the press club was attacked by the employees of the Muzaffarabad Development Authority.
